I'm a huge live music fan! One of the perks of living in Austin (The Live Music Capital of the World) is getting to see it whenever I want. Thanks to the SXSW Music Festival, I've seen over 100 bands play live so far this year. I won't list all of mine (because I couldn't remember them all even if I wanted to), but please list who you've seen.

SXSW Music Festival (4 Days, 1,900 bands, 70 venues) - we probably saw about 80!
Primal Scream
Morrissey
Franz Ferdinand
Coldplay
Spoon
Snow Patrol
Howling Bells

morrissey! you probably saw the same show that a friend of mine saw. according to a third party, she ripped morrissey's collar off - T or F?

i saw bunches of bands so far this year. i'll go through my tickets and list them later. gotta grow an ego on these new forums ;-)

I haven't seen any this year, how sad is that?
I've been to a few stand up comedy clubs, live bands play there but they're just local.

Doooooooooonya! So good to see you. Wink

We were at the ATX show. I didn't see that but I missed a few minutes here and there getting drinks and such. Sounds about right, though. Smiley

Awesome! I see you have My Bloody Valentine on your favorites list. I was so upset when they came through Austin on one of their 4 USA dates a few months ago on the same night that I already had tickets to see Spoon. Now Spoon are coming back next week to play 3 nights in a row, I'm even more upset that I didn't sell those tickets and see MBV instead. Who knows if they'll ever tour again? :/

s'good to see you too! how have you been? it's been well over a year, hasn’t it? all we need is a little ashley and some ‘dan and laura’ and we’re back to square one.

wahwahwahhh, i know you like spoon and all, and so do i, but my bloody valentine are worth dropping 10 spoons for! big error of judgement on your part there, alex. :`( and yes, i'm purposely trying to make you feel worse because i missed the Sigur Rós show at the hurricane festival last year and felt bad for a month. my friend passed out while i (and i say i because she didn’t care) was waiting so eagerly for so long to see them. but there you have it, story of my life.

and no, i haven’t fished my tickets out yet to list all the shows i've been to this year, but i just realized that most of my ‘recent’ best shows were in the last months of 2008 and upcoming in these next few months. i did see leonard cohen which was a miracle! again, that was last year. all my 2009 really awesome shows are yet to come, but i did get the chance to see morrissey recently and the meat puppets! i'm going to be seeing sonic youth, elvis costello and the imposters and dino jr. soon (if i can) as well, even if i have to kill innocent puppies to see them.

It's been almost 2 years. :/

Ashley yes. The others... nothankyou!

Yep, that kinda sucked. I saw that MBV were playing the same night a couple of months after I bought my Spoon tickets. I shoulda just sold my Spoon tickets and went to see MBV, since they only played 4 shows in the USA and Austin was one of them. Oh well!

Well, at least Sigur Ros will likely play again. Who knows if or when MBV will ever play again?

Anyway, I was so happy to see Snow Patrol play a couple of weeks back. If you remember, the first time you told me about them (must be about 3 years ago) they were coincidentally playing in Austin that very night, but had been sold out for months. Anyway, they're coming through again a few months, so will be seeing them again then too.
